Rangers, Residents, and MudFire's Owners
MudFire is staffed by work exchange staffers looking for studio access and a larger firing allowance. We affectionately term them "Rangers" because at times MudFire can feel like a park full of things going on. But, they are really artists in residence. They have taken on the job of volunteering so they can in turn have a place to work, launching their ceramic lines, making commissions, stocking their Etsy shops, and making a living. Each day you will see photos posted of the rangers who are on duty. When we are not on duty please respect our working time by interacting with staffers whose pictures are posted.
Our staffers have lots of experience in firing and making techniques - each with their own favorite tips and tricks. We encourage you to interact with everyone and get to know us all and what we have to offer. In return for working 8 hours in the studio - Rangers get 24/7 access and a key to the place as well as a semi-private work space.
We also have Artist in Residence spaces that are semi-private and include direct mentor-ship, critiques, and support as artists begin their path to selling their work in the world. As a Resident you will gain gallery and photography experience as well as studio technician knowledge.
If you have prior ceramic experience and would like to join our team - please reach out. If you are following us on Instagram you can see more of our studio, rangers, and residents in action.
