MudFire Gallery announces an invitational exhibit of functional and sculptural works in clay with a focus on the lovable polka dot.

Pottery has been a part of our lives since ancient times, and brings with it ten thousand years of history. While I find this deep well of tradition both fascinating and inspiring, it can also weigh us down and hold us back.
I feel that pottery design has not evolved with the same speed as our lifestyles and homes. I fear that contemporary pottery risks losing relevancy to a large segment of the population if it does not advance with the fast-moving design trends of our global urban culture.
My work is intended to meet the need for hand-made artisan pottery with innovative modernist designs. I strive for striking forms with refreshingly minimalist decoration, while avoiding the whimsical or cute. My pottery is meant for people who appreciate and celebrate modern living and modern art.

Since then, she has been an interior designer for corporate and healthcare projects in Atlanta, GA. Interior design is her profession, but pottery is her passion. She has been making pottery since 2001.
