Tony Clennell Workshop

Selling Everything But Out

Tony will teach the fine points of making great pots including throwing techniques, surface embellishments, and the little details that make all the difference. Rest up for the ride...Tony is an entertainer, a philosopher, one helluva potter, and never shy with his opinion. This is going to be a fun one!

Workshop participants will learn Tony's sectional throwing method for making pots in pieces, resulting in articulated shapes while making it easier to handle larger amounts of clay. Tony will show slides that document his work and what he will be making that weekend. The pottery demonstrated will include large jugs, casseroles, vases, teapots, cups, bowls and platters. Handles, lugs, altering, cutting and surface embellishment with slips is also covered. We'll learn how to make pots that sell without selling out your soul!

About Tony Clennell

Tony teaches part-time at Canada's top art school, Sheridan College.
