Opened April 3, 2003

MudFire Pottery Center proudly announces Teapots-A-Go-Go, a gallery exhibit of fun, funky and all-around wicked-good teapots. The multi-artist exhibit opens on April 3 and continues through April 16. An exhibit opening party will be held on April 3 from 7p-10p.

Over the past 30 years, the contemporary American teapot has become the most widely admired and collected object of studio pottery. Expert craftsmanship is necessary to execute either functional or sculptural teapots, but even more challenging is the integration of content, surface and form within the technical limitations. In the end, it is the search for a balance between function and artistic content that produces remarkably imaginative and imminently collectible works of art.

Images of individual works for this past exhibit are not available.

More About Teapots-A-Go-Go

This exhibit celebrates the limitless personal expression offered by artwork constrained by structural imperatives.

About The Exhibit

This exhibition brings together the work of prominent artists invited by MudFire and juried submissions, both from around the country. Resident MudFire artists will also be represented in force. All told, there will be about 150 teapots from roughly 50 artists.

All work is for sale, and will be displayed for the full run of the show. Expect a strong turnout of Georgia's premiere clay artists for the opening reception.
