Resident Artist Show 2014
March 3, 2014 - April 1, 2014
Our wonderful MudFire residents work in the gallery, studio, and firing areas of MudFire - they provide excellent support to our organization while making ceramic work during their one year stay with us. Amy Roberson, Kevin Bennett, and Megan Daloz are proud to present their mid-residency show.
Megan Daloz presents a body of work dark in theme and rich in color, surface, and intrique. Predation is a natural interaction driven by the desire to consume. In a world of easy consumption, it is not difficult to forget abou the desire to hunt or to be hunted.
Amy Roberson's body of resident work involves color from lanthanides to stains - Amy works with a variety of glazes. Amy's ceramics combine imagery and color from two of her favorite things; music and candy. The bright colors create a happy and playful feel, while the forms reference the electronic images often seen in music production. The inspirations come together to create a collection of wonderful pieces.
Kevin Bennett works primarily in raku and organic sculptural forms, he utilizes a collection of interested mixed media materials to entice his viewers.
