Over 100 local and regional ceramic artists participate in Atlanta's largest "clay only" holiday show. MudFire Clayworks & Gallery, a nationally prominent center for clay located in Decatur, GA, hosts an exhibit and sale of locally-produced, finely-crafted functional and decorative ceramics made by emerging and established clay artists. Inventory is replenished daily as the show leads all they way up to the holidays.
Gifting handmade is gifting care and quality. Nothing store-bought can compare with the sentiment and craftsmanship of an object made by an artisan. And handmade does not mean more expensive. Most items in the MudFire holiday show are in the $20-$60 range. So this year, instead of mass produced packaged goods, give gifts that speak to the care and love with which the objects were made and selected.
Buying locally-made fine craft is not just a shopping solution, it is a statement in favor of a better way to be and an investment in the future of one's community. Support for the crafts community has been gaining momentum nationwide. There simply couldn't be a better year to get behind the Buy-Handmade/Buy-Local movement in Atlanta.
Housed in a renovated warehouse near downtown Decatur, the sunlit gallery stands out as Atlanta's showcase of unique and affordable pottery. For the Holiday Show, MudFire is bringing in a large selection of new work by each of the represented artists as well as juried pottery by our very own fantastically talented MudFire studio members. Work by several guest artists from around the country will also be presented.
Some of the work you may see includes (but is certainly not limited to) cups, goblets, tureens, casseroles, bottles, bowls, pitchers, vases, ornaments, menorahs, plates, tiles, platters, salt & peppers, soap dishes, butter dishes, and monster mugs! There is something for everyone with a discerning taste for quality craft and a desire to present their friends and family with a special gift this holiday season.
Quality handmade items carry the positive, creative spirit of their maker. Don't simply give a gift, pass on good energy. Handmade is always the best choice!
