About David Babb

David's work is about the exploration of texture, pattern, color and whimsy. Trained in throwing and functional work, David has always been a narrative artist. From his earliest works as a production potter, his pieces have been decorated with images that tell a story. The work has been about exploration and experimentation, finding new images and new ways to express himself.

He starts with simple sketches and lets the medium take over to define its own shape. His work is figurative, narrative and has a sense of whimsy as well as a hint of fun.

David has been an adjunct professor of ceramics at Georgia State University as well as the University of Denver, Colorado. His work has been exhibited throughout the country including the Denver Botanical Gardens, Abstein Gallery in Atlanta, and the Agora Gallery in SOHO, New York City.
